Interbeing. A journey into Connectedness
In a world that is increasingly characterized by fragmentation and deeply sensed isolation, we often forget that health and healing are not lonely or individual processes. We are social beings whose nervous systems and bodies are in constant resonance with each other. Based on Thích Nhất Than’s ideas we are interbeings, beings that are connected to everything in a multitude of ways. But in our society we have largely suppressed or even destroyed the experience of this connectedness; leading to widespread dis-ease.
Today we have the most developed healthcare system that has ever existed, and yet we are dis-eased on many levels like never before. Social fragmentation and isolation, stress, anxiety and the experience of insecurity and alienation have increased dramatically. Health, however, is closely linked to systemic integration and the experience of deep connection and security. Open, playful exploration, conscious embodiment, mindful contact and loving presence are essential aspects of healing and transformation that have so far been largely overlooked by mainstream healthcare.
Children intuitively know what is good for them. As adults, in the course of life, we have often forgotten to trust this inner voice or to even perceive it at all. Our task is to make this embodied knowledge tangible again and to bring it into contact. It’s about de-alienating ourselves from ourselves.
Ayamas four-part Interbeing series is an invitation to bridge the gap from individual self-regulation to collective healing and transformation. We open a field of experience and research for human encounter and connection, which combines well-founded theory with embodied practice and exploration.
Dr. Lars Weckbecker and Yvonne Naumann accompany you sensitively and competently on your journey in reconnecting with yourself, others and the world around you.
Being at Home Within Us. Sensing Bodies, Boundaries & Ourselves
16./17. January 2027
Before we can truly engage with other people, we need to understand the architecture of our own inner home. From a systemic point of view, a boundary is not a wall that separates us, but a vital membrane that enables communication in the first place. This weekend we are researching the neurobiology of interoception – those quiet signals from within that tell us who we are and what we need.
We use the warm, carrying atmosphere of the space to get back into our own bodies through gentle body work (trauma-informed yoga elements, somatic impulses, mindful body awareness, etc.) and conscious stillness. When we learn to not only understand our physiological boundaries cognitively, but to inhabit them as a living feeling of security, our resonance with the world changes – and the outside responds in a whole new way. We invite you to feel how a clear “yes” to yourself feels so that your “we” can later stand on a firm foundation. In this practice of ‘arriving within us’ we find the peace that is necessary in order not to lose ourselves in the alienation of the hustle and bustle of everyday life, but to get back into our own rhythm and real contact.
Being touched. Touched Being. Creating Connection through Embodied Communication
13./14. February 2027
Especially in the dark season, we often long for warmth and to be held. But real touch has become rare in our society and is often occupied with fears, traumatic experiences and sexualized desire – although it is a basic condition for a healthy and fulfilling life.
This weekend we dedicate ourselves to embodied communication as our most original language. Dr. Lars Weckbecker introduces the scientific background of communication and the nervous system. How does our biology react to the physical presence of a counterpart? How do our bodies interact and communicate beyond words?
At the same time, we open an experiential space in which we practice a mindful “building bridges” between bodies. Through somatic consensus exercises and fine skin receptor work, we create the foundation in order to be able to receive touch safely in the first place. Through mindful touch sequences, fine energetic impulses and conscious relational practices, we learn to perceive the other without evaluating him or wanting anything from him. It is a phenomenological experiment with closeness and distance, a dance of giving and receiving that gets deep under your skin. We invite you to experience the healing power of unintentional touch, through a touch that doesn’t want to use or repair anything, just witnesses: “I see you. I feel you.”
Ubuntu. I am because You are. From Self-Regulation to Co-Regulation
13./14. March 2027
After grounding ourselves within ourselves and within contact during winter, we broaden our view towards the dynamics of the community. We leave the modern myth of isolating autonomy and lonely individualism behind and recognize our biological and systemic interdependence. Referring to Polyvagal theory, we examine how our nervous systems affect each other – how we can radiate security or transmit stress through our mere presence.
In practice, we use best practices and methods, resonant movement and conscious expression to transition from self-regulation to co-regulation. We learn how nourishing it is to no longer having to keep yourself going alone, but to immerse yourself in the resonance and connectedness of a group. Through elements of non-violent communication and conscious relating, we create a space in which the “we” can be experienced as a source of strength. We invite you to feel the relief that arises when we put off the burden of isolation and let ourselves fall back into the network of human connectedness.
Between You and Me, there are We. The Relational Field
03./04. April 2027
The fourth event is dedicated to the mystery and wonder of what arises between us when we really become present with each other. In systems theory we speak of emergence: a field that is more than the sum of its parts. We examine how relational fields influence our personal healing and how we can in turn help shape these fields through our conscious presence. It is the step from individual and isolated therapy to systemic and collective transformation.
Through free movement and dance, creative expression, body- and breathwork and profound relational practices, we make the invisible tissue between us visible and tangible. We celebrate the ability to relate and the newly discovered vitality. We invite you to become part of this field that carries us over the weekend and reminds us that we were never really separated. It is an invitation to carry the seed of what you have learned into your everyday life, your family and your work.
