The Centre
Since 2021 we have been spotting for suitable land to create a down-to-earth reconnective seminar and retreat centre within the nature of Central Portugal.
After three years of searching, in late 2024 we had finally found and bought a beautiful 1.7ha piece of land with a small house and several ruins near Aldeia das Dez . I n April 2025 we finally began to make it home and envisioned the land as a future home for Ayama . After four months of hard work, everything was just set up for summer and some weeks of rest and some lovely friends visiting from Germany . In the early morning of the 13 th of August a heavy and unusual thunderstorm hit the area and two lightning strikes hit nearby Piódão. 11 days later a massive area of 645 km2 had been burned to the ground. Including Ayama’s new home.
